Formula and Methodology

The current EMI is calculated from the outstanding loan, interest rate and remaining months. The prepayment amount is deducted from principal, then the revised tenure and interest are estimated using the same EMI.

Interest saved is the difference between current projected interest and revised projected interest.

Worked Example

Example: On a ₹20,00,000 outstanding loan with 180 months left, a ₹2,00,000 prepayment can reduce the number of EMIs and show the approximate interest saved.
