Formula and Methodology
The calculator uses the reducing balance EMI formula: EMI = P x r x (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n - 1). P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate and n is the tenure in months.
Total payment is EMI multiplied by tenure. Total interest is total payment minus principal.

Worked Example
Example: If you borrow ₹10,00,000 for 60 months at 9% annual interest, the calculator shows the monthly EMI and the total interest payable over the full tenure.
